[PIETERMARITZBURG] – Man left critical after shooting.

A 48-year-old man was left seriously injured this morning following a shooting incident on Chapel Street in Pietermaritzburg CBD.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene 12h57 to find the man lying in the rear of a vehicle. Several bullet holes were found in the vehicle.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his back and was in a critical condition.

The man was treated for his injuries and was provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to a nearby private hospital for urgent care.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
