[PIETERMARITZBURG] – Taxi and car collide leaving at least fifteen injured.

At least fifteen people were left injured last night when a light motor vehicle and taxi collided on the M70 Edendale Road in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find one taxi on its side while the other was upright a short distance away. One man was found trapped inside the overturned taxi while at least fifteen others were wandering the scene.
Pietermaritzburg Fire Services utilised various tools to free the man from the taxi. Once freed, medics assessed the patients and found that the man was in a critical condition while at least fifteen others had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated, and the critically injured man provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
