[PINETOWN] Five rescued from Fields Hill crash

Five people sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate when the vehicle they were traveling crashed down an embankment along the M13, Fields Hill in Pinetown.

At approximately 11 am on Sunday morning, paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found the vehicle about 25 metres down the embankment on its roof. Due to the slippery ground and poorly accessible area, a team from Rescuetech was call to the scene to assist in anchoring the vehicle and set up a hoist system to recover two of the injured patients. Two patients were hoisted up to the side of the road where they received further treatment. Three others were treated and also transported to hospital.

The injured were transported by ambulance to RK Khan Hospital for further care. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known.
