[PLATTEKLOOF] Three injured in N1 collision

Three people sustained various injuries in a collision between a bakkie and a truck along the N1 near Plattekloof (outbound) in Cape Town on Sunday evening.

At approximately 4.40pm on Sunday evening, paramedics and local emergency services arrived on the scene. Three people were found inside of the bakkie. Two of them sustained serious injuries and another sustained moderate injuries. Local fire and rescue services had to use rescue tools to free one of the trapped occupants.

The occupants were treated on the scene and later transported to Mediclinic Panorama and Tygerberg Hospital respectively. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene.
