[POTCHEFSTROOM] – Car and truck collide leaving four injured

Four people were left injured early this morning, one of them critically when a light motor crashed into the side of a truck on the Mooibank Road outside of Potchefstroom.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the Provincial Services already in attendance. A wrecked light motor vehicle and truck were found in the middle of the road a short distance apart. A man, believed to be in his 50s, was found lying trapped inside the light motor vehicle in a critical condition. The Provincial paramedics were treating three other patients from the light motor vehicle.
Fire Services had to use specialised rescue equipment to free the man from the vehicle. Once freed, the man was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Potchefstroom Provincial Hospital for further care.
The three other patients were transported by the Provincial Services to Potchefstroom Hospital.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
