[POTCHEFSTROOM] – Four-vehicle collision leaves seven injured.
Seven people were left injured this morning, including an 8-month-old girl, following a four-vehicle collision on the N12, approximately 15km outside of Potchefstroom towards Klerksdorp.
ER24 paramedics, along with the Provincial Fire and Ems, arrived on the scene to find the four vehicles scattered along the road. Several people were found walking around on the scene.
Medics assessed the patients and found that two people had sustained serious injuries while six other patients, including an 8-month-old girl, had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated for their injuries, and the two seriously injured provided with pain-relief medication, before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
It is believed that smoke from a nearby veld-fire played a contributing factor in the cause of the collision.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
