POTCHEFSTROOM – Man struck-and-killed by bakkie.

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was struck-and-killed by a bakkie this morning on the N12, approximately 21km from Potchefstroom.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 07h11 to find the body of a man lying in the middle of the road. The bakkie that had struck the man was found parked a short distance away.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

The driver of the bakkie escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
