[PROTEA GLEN] – Bakkie and car collide leaving two injured.

Two people were left injured last night, one of them seriously injured, when a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided on the N12 near the Kliprivier offramp in Protea Glen.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the vehicles on the side of the road. One patient was found outside the bakkie while one patient was found trapped inside the bakkie.
Local Fire Services had to use specialised rescue equipment to free the patient from the vehicle. Once freed, medics assessed the patients and found that one man was in a serious condition while the second man had sustained moderate injuries.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided the seriously injured man with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
