[RANDFONTEIN] Vehicle rear-ends bakkie being pushed

A 30-year-old man is in a critical condition after a light motor vehicle collided with him and the bakkie he was busy pushing on the R559 in Randfontein this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 13:45 to find the two vehicles and a man lying in the road, his leg having been amputated. Advanced Life Support interventions were needed to stabilise him before transporting him to a private hospital for further treatment. The driver of the light motor vehicle, a 59-year-old woman, was found to have suffered moderate injuries and was transported to another private hospital in Krugersdorp.
