[RANDPARK RIDGE] – Truck and two bakkies collide leaving one dead, eight injured.

One man was killed, and eight others left injured this morning when a flat-bed truck and two bakkies collided on the N1 south near the Beyers Naude offramp in Randpark Ridge.
ER24 and Life Healthcare Paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the three vehicles in the middle of the highway. Traffic had already begun to backup due to the collision.
Medics began to assess the patients and found that one man, believed to be in his 30s, lay trapped inside the one small bakkie. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his injuries. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.
Eight other patients were tended to on the scene. One man was in a critical condition; two were in a serious condition while five others had minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated for their injuries, and the critically and seriously injured provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to Life Flora Hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
