[ROSHNEE] – Driver killed when car strikes horse.

The driver of a light motor vehicle was killed this morning when his vehicle struck a horse on the R82 outside of Roshnee.
At approximately 05h30, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the light motor vehicle on the side of the road. A horse was found lying in the front of the car.
On closer inspection, medics found a man lying next to the light motor vehicle. Bystanders had pulled the man from the car a few minutes earlier.
Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous fatal injuries. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.
Fortunately, no-one else from the vehicle sustained any injuries.
It is understood that another vehicle had struck the horse first throwing in front of the second vehicle.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
