[RUSTENBURG] – Father and son injured in collision.

A man and his 7-year-old son were left injured when their bakkie and truck collided on the R24 in Rustenburg, last night.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 18h15 to find the truck and bakkie in the middle of the road.

On closer inspection, medics found that the man was trapped inside the bakkie while the child was seated next to him. Both patients were found with moderate injuries.

Rescue medics carefully extricated the man and thereafter treated both patients.

Once treated, the patients were transported to a private hospital for further care.

The driver of the truck fortunately escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
