[RUSTENBURG] – Four killed, eight injured in a collision.

On Saturday, four people were killed and eight others injured when three light motor vehicles and a bakkie collided on the N4 outside Rustenburg.
ER24 and other services arrived on the scene at 21h15 to find three vehicles in the middle of the road while a light motor vehicle was on the side of the road well alight. Several patients were seen lying around the cars.
The Provincial Fire Services were on the scene to extinguish the burning vehicle. Once extinguished, medics found three patients lying inside the smouldering car. Another man was found lying motionless inside another light motor vehicle. Unfortunately, all four patients had already succumbed to their injuries. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.
Eight other patients were tended to on the scene. Assessments showed that their injuries ranged from minor to critical.
The patients were treated and provided with advanced life support before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
