[SLANGSPRUIT] Two dead, 15 injured in an intersection collision
Two as yet unidentified people have died and fifteen others have suffered minor to critical injuries in a collision between a truck, a bakkie and three light motor vehicles at the Archie Gumede and Pentrich Road intersection on the border of Slangspruit and Ridgepark, South of Pietermaritzburg this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics along with multiple other services were on the scene at 17:15 where they found many patients and bystanders walking around. Two adults lying on the sides of the road were found to have suffered fatal injuries in the collision and were declared dead on arrival. One patient had suffered critical injuries, eight moderate injuries and six minor injuries. All patients were treated by the many services on the scene and transported to Edendale, Greys and Northdale hospitals for further care. All are believed to have been adults.
The Fire Department as well as the South African Police Services were also present for further investigations.
