[SPRINGFIELD] – Pedestrian left critical in collision.

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was left critically injured when he was struck by a light motor vehicle on the Intersite Road in Springfield, Durban.

ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene at 18h40 to find the man lying on the pavement. The light motor vehicle was found parked a short distance away.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.

The man was treated and provided with several advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Addington Provincial Hospital for further care.

The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
