[TEMBISA] Man declared dead following drowning

A man was declared dead following a drowning incident in Hospital View, Tembisa this afternoon.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 12h00, two other medical services were already on the scene. The SAPS divers were also busy searching for the man’s body. After about 30mins, the body was found and brought to the surface where paramedics declared the man dead.

It is understood that the man fell into a body of water when the embankment alongside a stormwater runoff collapsed underneath him.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not known, but local authorities are on the scene for further investigations.
