[THATCHFIELD] – 8-year-old drowns in Rietspruit River.

The body of an 8-year-old boy was found this morning in the Rietspruit River in Thatchfield, Centurion.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 11h25 to find the SAPS Search and Rescue, Provincial Fire and several other services already in attendance.

Search and Rescue Services searched the river for some time. After a few minutes, the body of the child was found. Unfortunately, the child showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done by paramedics and he was declared dead.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
