[THREE RIVERS] Six injured, one critically, in collision

A man in his 30s has been critically injured and five others have suffered minor to serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Sugarbush Drive in Three Rivers, Vereeniging this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the five men from the bakkie sitting on the sidewalk and the driver of the Golf entrapped and in a critical condition. A trailer packed with lawn mowing equipment was being towed by the bakkie at the time of the incident.

Provincial Emergency Services tended to the five – four of them had suffered minor injuries and the driver was seriously injured. They were all taken through to Kopanong Hospital for further care. Emfuleni Fire & Rescue was needed to extract the driver of the Golf who was then stabilised and taken to a private hospital in the area.

The cause of this incident is unknown to ER24.
