TIBANE – Man critically injured in collision

A man, believed to be in his 60s, sustained critical injuries following a collision between a light motor vehicle and a truck in Tibane in Limpopo about 50kms out on the Matlala road this morning.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly before 11H30, they found the driver of a vehicle still entrapped and in a critical condition. ER24 along with the fire department and Metro EMS had to extricate the man using the jaws of life. Once freed, paramedics immediately initiated advanced life support interventions before transporting him to Mediclinic Limpopo for further medical care.

The truck driver had sustained no injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not known to our paramedics, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
