[TRICHARDT] Several injured in multi-vehicle collision

Seven adults (four females and three males) have been injured in a collision between two taxis and four light-motor-vehicles on the N17, close to the Vlaklaagte turnoff in Trichardt, Mpumalanga earlier this afternoon. A veld fire had caused poor visibility on the highway.

ER24 paramedics were on the scene at around 13:30 along with the Traffic and Fire Departments, SAPS and another private medical service. Two mini-bus taxis, two bakkies, a Fortuner and a sedan were found still blocking the highway. Two adult males were found to have suffered moderate injuries and four adult females and another adult male had suffered minor injuries. All were treated and transported to hospital by ER24 for further care. An eighth patient declined transportation to hospital.

As stated, the South African Police Services were on the scene for further investigations.
