[VAAL MARINA] – Truck and car collide, leaving one dead, four injured.

Yesterday morning, one man was killed and four others injured, including two children, when a truck and a light motor vehicle collided head-on on the R54 in Vaal Marina.
ER24 and the Provincial EMS arrived at 07h40 to find the truck and light motor vehicle on the side of the road. The car was found partially wedged under the front of the truck.
On closer inspection, medics found the body of a man lying trapped in the driver’s seat of the car. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.
A woman, a young boy and a girl from the car were assessed and found in a critical condition, having sustained numerous injuries.
Medics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
The driver of the truck escaped the incident with only minor injuries.
The details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
