[VEREENIGING] – Man critical following industrial accident.

A man in his 20s was left critically injured this morning following an industrial accident on Hendrik Van Eck in Vereeniging.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and were lead through the site to where the patient was found.
On closer inspection, medics found the man lying on top of a scaffolding platform.
Medics tended to the patient while a second platform was built so that paramedics could later move the patient.
On assessment, medics found that the man had sustained injuries to his head and shoulders, leaving him in a critical condition.
The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Mediclinic Vereeniging for urgent care.
It is understood that the man had been working on a platform when he tripped and fell onto a lower platform.
