[VEREENIGING] Pedestrian seriously injured in vehicle knockdown

A male pedestrian, believed to be in his 60s, sustained serious injuries after he was knocked down by a vehicle on the R59 at the R42 offramp in Vereeniging this morning.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly before 09H00, they found the man lying in the fast lane of the R59. He had sustained serious injuries. Paramedics treated and stabilised him at the scene before transporting him to hospital for further medical care.

The driver of the vehicle sustained no injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but police were on the scene for further investigations.
