[WELTEVREDEN PARK] – Multiple-vehicle collision leaves one dead, two injured.

A woman has been killed and two others injured following a collision on the N1 north-bound between 14th and Beyers Naude in Weltevreden Park.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 12h51 to find that at least five light motor vehicles had collided. One was found in a ditch on the side of the road while several others were found across the highway.
On closer inspection, medics found the body of a woman lying on the road a few metres away from her vehicle. Assessments showed that the woman had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing more could be done, and she was declared dead.
Two other patients were tended to on scene. A man was found with several injuries and in a critical condition while another woman had sustained moderate injuries.
The two patients were treated for their injuries and the critically injured man with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
