[WEST VILLAGE] Two killed, two injured in collision

Two people sustained fatal injuries and two others sustained moderate injuries following a collision between two vehicles on the R28 in West Village last night.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at approximately 20h30, they found the West Rand fire department extinguishing one of the car’s that had caught alight. Two people from the vehicle managed to escape and were found to have sustained moderate injuries. They were treated at the scene before being transported to hospital for further medical care.

In the second vehicle, the driver was still inside. Unfortunately, the patient was showing no signs of life and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Another patient was lying outside of the vehicle and was found to have sustained fatal injuries. The patient was declared dead at the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but local authorities were on the scene.
