[WESTONARIA] One killed, several injured in various collisions

One person was killed and several others were left injured in various collisions in Westonaria last night.

Shortly before 10pm on Friday evening, paramedics from ER24 and local emergency services attended to a collision where two vehicles were involved on the R28. One person sustained fatal injuries and another sustained serious injury. The seriously injured man was airlifted by a medical helicopter to hospital.

Shortly after 4am on Saturday morning, paramedics attended to a collision where a 19-year-old woman crashed her vehicle through a fence and into a house in Korhaan Street, Randfontein. When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the woman still inside the vehicle. She had sustained moderate injuries and was treated on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

At approximately 6am on Saturday morning, ER24 paramedics attended an incident where a vehicle overturned several times along the N12 in Westonaria. Five people sustained minor to moderate injuries. They were assessed and treated on the scene and later transported to a nearby hospital.

The exact circumstances surrounding these collisions are not yet known. Local authorities attended the scenes.
