[WOODSTOCK] Man left seriously injured in a shooting incident

A man sustained serious injuries following a shooting incident in Woodstock in Cape Town this morning.

An off duty ER24 paramedic woke to the sound of gunshots outside of his home at approximately 05h20 this morning. Upon further inspection, he found a woman screaming in the road. The paramedic found a vehicle in the driveway with a man inside who sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The paramedic immediately phoned for assistance while administering advanced life support interventions on the patient.

It is understood that the man was on his way to work before he was allegedly robbed of his valuables and shot.

The man was treated at the scene by ER24, Metro EMS, and Life Healthcare before being transported to the hospital for further medical care.
