[OBSERVATORY] – Pedestrian left critical in hit-and-run.

A 24-year-old man was left critically injured in the early hours of yesterday morning in a hit-and-run incident on the M4 Main road in Observatory, Western Cape.

ER24 medics, along with Life Healthcare and Community Medics, were alerted to the incident by a passing bystander, arriving at 00h25.

Upon closer inspection, medics found a 24-year-old man lying in the middle of the road.

Assessments showed that that the man had sustained a serious head injury and was in a critical condition.

The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the man was transported to Life Vincent Palotti Hospital for urgent care.

The vehicle in question was not found on the scene.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
