[RONDEBOSCH] – Man resuscitated after collapsing while playing soccer.

A 66-year-old man was resuscitated last night after he collapsed while playing soccer at a university in Rondebosch, Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare, arrived on the scene at 22h10 and were led to the soccer field by the security services.

On scene, paramedics found the body of a man lying on the soccer field. A number of bystanders were found performing CPR on the man.

ER24 paramedics immediately took over CPR and immediately provided the man with advanced life support interventions. After some time, the man’s vital signs returned, and he was thereafter transported to Groote Schuur Provincial Hospital for further care.
