[TZANEEN] – Six pedestrians injured in collision.
Six children, believed to be aged between 12 and 13, were left injured this afternoon when they were struck by a vehicle in the Tzaneen area.
ER24 personnel were alerted to this incident after the patients were transported to Matupa Clinic for further assistance.
On arrival at the clinic, ER24 medics found two children in the back of a vehicle while four others were found inside the clinic.
Medics assessed the children and found that two were in a critical condition while the four others had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated for their injuries and the two critically injured provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Unfortunately, upon arrival at hospital, one of the critically injured patients succumbed to their injuries.
Local authorities were on the initial scene for further investigations.
